I just love Build A Bear, my girl Kylie loved Build A Bear. She had her 6th birthday party there and still has her Hello Kitty animal from the party. But now that she is so super mature at 11, we walk right on past the store on our to way cool places that sell clothing so cheap it falls apart in the wash, or every color of crackle nail polish. Boy do I miss Build A Bear. So I now live vicariously through the next generation of little ones. Just wait till my nephew gets old enough to spoil with fuzzy green turtles and spotted puppies. I was happy to get a call for a party at Build A Bear, and here are the results!

So I have this friend, let's call her "Vanessa" to protect the innocent. Well, she and her boyfriend have been together forever, as in more then 12 years. They have been talking marriage on and off, he bought her a beautiful ring, tossing around heading to Vegas, maybe Carmel, or just a huge casual party in the backyard. I am all for a big wedding, its a great excuse to throw a party! I know, I know, it's not about me. Then last week they said they were going to the courthouse and did I want to be a witness. Sure, I said. Does that mean I get to be the hononary maid of honor? And since I was taking my job very seriously I got to baking. Keep in mind I had less then 48 hours, so this is what I came up with

My girl Kylie LOVES PEEPS. I know that's not anything shocking to most people, but if you knew my Ky, trust me it's crazy. I, who love sugar in almost any form, somehow gave birth to a child who strongly dislikes sugar. With the exception of PEEPS. I have long given up trying to understand it, PEEPS are like a stale marshmallow, and they turn your mouth an ungodly shade of neon. So these cupcakes were our compromise last year, I made cupcakes with a PEEP topper. I ate the cake, she ate the PEEPS and everyone was happy.

My poor sad little blog.
I think about my blog every day, in fact it even haunts my dreams. Yet it continues to sit here, all alone and negelected. Why do I negelect it you might ask. Well, here goes. It scares me. Whew, it actually feels good to say it out loud! I read so many amazing, creative, inspiring blogs and I think what it I dont measure up. What it no one reads it? What it no one likes me?
No more! Today I am putting on my big girl pants and here is a blog post. I am committed. You heard it here first folks. I will be posting at least once a week. Somehow I will find the time. Maybe I'll just sleep less, or eat less, (wait, that might be the best idea yet) or do less laundry, but I WILL blog more. That's my promise

I love cupcakes, everything about cupcakes, the batter, the pretty liners, the vast array of sprinkles, the amazing first bite! So you might be wondering why we are making pies. Well it all comes down to Kylie a.k.a. Lucy. She loves pies and is somewhat famous in her own small circle for her pumpkin pies. She uses a family recipe for pumpkin pie that comes from her great-grandmother. And now the time has come for Kylie's 4th grade class trip to Sacramento, and since I am such a mean mom by not just paying for the entire trip, Kylie came up with a brilliant idea to sell pies! Apple, Pecan and the FAMOUS Pumpkin Pie. Granted it will take alot of pies at $8 a pie, but its the thought that counts right? Right??? Maybe I am a mean mom...
